Within the SGAVE (Sino-German Advanced Vocational Education) system I was on the road in many different cities during the summer vacations and could again meet many new teachers. Although there is always a lot of discussion about the cultural differences and many other challenges, I don’t see much difference in the enthusiasm and activity of my participants. As always, we had a lot of fun together. Of course, one should always take some time during such assignments to get to know the city and the surroundings better. Suzhou has a lot to offer and is nestled in beautiful surroundings. This time we chose the Whangshan Scenic Park.
Whangshan Scenic Area is a beautiful place located in Jiangsu province, near Suzhou. The region is known for its breathtaking landscapes, including mountains, lakes and forests, which offer an unforgettable experience for nature lovers.
Whangshan is also rich in history and culture. There are several ancient temples and pagodas that visitors can explore. These historic sites offer glimpses of regional architecture and spiritual practices from centuries past.
The Whangshan Scenic Area is also well connected to Suzhou, a city itself famous for its classical gardens and traditional Chinese architecture. Visiting this region is thus also an opportunity to experience the beauty and diversity of Suzhou and the surrounding area.
