For the following photos, I have copied a pre-written text. This was my second time here, and as always, I perceive this landscape as an impressive painting. Simply beautiful. Just a few less tourists would be nice. But after all, everyone wants to visit here at least once.
Here is a brief description:
The Li River originates from the Maoer Mountain, the first peak in South China. It belongs to the upper reaches of the Gui River in the Pearl River Water System. It is not only one of the 13 rivers under national prior protection, but also one of the 15 most beautiful rivers in the world.
The Li River Scenic Area is one of the first batch of national 5A level tourist attractions. The Li River Scenic Area is located in the core scenic area of Guilin Karst World Natural Heritage and the Li River Landscape and Scenic Attractions. It starts from Mopanshan Passenger Terminal (Zhujiang Passenger Terminal), which is less than 30 km away from Guilin, and ends at Longtoushan Pier (Shuidongmen Pier) in Yangshuo County, a total of about 60 km-long voyage by ship.
“The Li River is a living gallery.” Everywhere seems like a Chinese ink painting: mountains, cliffs, waterfalls, streams, oases, rapids, caves, and rocks. Dozens of famous scenic spots are distributed along the river: Tallow Tree Shoal, Nine Buffalos Gazing Three Oases, Bat Hill, Husband-waiting Rock, Carp Fishing Long Society, Carp Fishing on the Wall, Langshi Scenery, Xialong Bay, Jilong Hill, Eight Immortals Crossing the River, Five Fingers Hill, Turtle-Climbing Hill, Nine-horse Mural Hill, Reflection of Yellow Cloth Shoal (the background of the 20 RMB), Camel Crossing the River, Chaoban Hill, Xingping Scenery, River Snail Hill, Fishing Village and Longtou Hill, etc.
Throughout the ages, this scenic area has attracted men of literature and poetry for its “green hills, clear water, fantastic caves and charming rocks”. It is renowned both domestically and internationally.
