Jiading (嘉定区 Jiādìng Qū) is an urban district of Shanghai city. Jiading has a population of 1,834,258. The Greater Anting Municipality (安亭镇), one of the automobile centers in China, is also located in the municipality. Also near Anting is the Jiading Campus of Tongji University, which is mainly home to the university’s technical and engineering institutes. We also used to go there often to conduct teacher training for our teachers in the SGAVE project.
Today I was there to visit Huilongtan Park. This is in the center of old Jiading and is worth a visit if you are in the area anyway and want to experience some peace and nature in the middle of the city.
Next to the park there is also a Confucius Temple, which is said to be one of the best preserved. Unfortunately, the inscriptions are mostly in Chinese script.
